The 2018-2019 television season gets underway tonight. Every year since 2009, I’ve asked readers to predict which new fall TV show will be cancelled first. Given how the networks are loath to actually cancel new shows these, it may be months (or longer) before the first true cancellation is announced. However, we will likely know much whether any of the 18 new network shows debuting in the coming weeks are doomed, even if the networks refuse to make the inevitable cancellations official...

Warner Music Group (WMG) has launched a seed-stage investment fund called WMG Boost.
The fund is aimed at supporting ‘entrepreneurial growth and innovative thinking’ in the music industry.
According to WMG, the multimillion-dollar fund will be used to invest in early-stage businesses ‘within and adjacent to the recorded music business’, in areas ranging from AI, to blockchain, virtual reality, mobile gaming, voice, and more.

Endemol Shine’s former Asia MD, Fotini Paraskakis, has joined The Story Lab, the Dentsu Aegis-backed content company that counts “Ninja Warrior” among its shows. Paraskakis will be based in the company’s London office as EVP, entertainment, overseeing scripted and unscripted.
